Hartsdale

Hartsdale is a hamlet and a census-designated place (CDP) located in the town of Greenburgh, Westchester County, New York. According to the United States Census Bureau, the community has a total area of 0.9 square miles. Census data from 2010 puts the population of Hartsdale’s ZIP code, 10530, at 12,604 residents.

Hartsdale straddles Central Park Avenue, part of a main north-south artery in lower Westchester that is known for car dealerships and big chain stores, although the stretch in Hartsdale includes Trader Joe’s, the Asian grocer H-Mart and Mrs. Green’s Natural Market. Off this main drag lies a variety of neighborhoods, each with a distinct feel, such as the park-like settings of Manor Woods or Windsor Park, and College Corners, a mix of older Tudors and colonial homes on winding streets bearing names like Harvard and Yale.

Along with lovely single-family homes in tree-lined enclaves like College Corner and Poets’ Corner, Hartsdale has a wide selection of co-ops and condominiums within walking distance to the train station. With convenient shopping on the main drag, plus tons of retail along Central Avenue, Hartsdale has something for everyone.
